Pegawai penyelidik Persatuan Pengguna Pulau Pinang (CAP), Hatijah Hashim memberitahu, bahan kimia plastik itu melarut resap daripada lapisan tin logam ke dalam susu rumusan bayi tanpa disedari.
“Bahan ini digunakan secara meluas dalam pembuatan tin susu rumusan bayi bagi membolehkan tin susu terbabit tahan lebih lama.
“Walaupun dibakar dengan suhu tinggi, ia tidak akan menjejaskan tin susu terbabit,” katanya.
Ujarnya lagi, bahan kimia itu juga digunakan sebagai bahan untuk membuat botol minuman termasuk botol susu bayi.
